Miku Restaurant is an award-winning, Michelin-recognized Japanese fine-dining establishment situated on the Coal Harbour waterfront in downtown Vancouver. It is famous for introducing Aburi (flame-seared) sushi to Canada, combining traditional Japanese flavors with premium West Coast ingredients. Aburi Sushi: Pioneered in Vancouver by Miku's founder, Seigo Nakamura, their signature dishes—like the Aburi Salmon Oshi Sushi (pressed, flame-seared wild sockeye salmon, jalapeño, and signature sauce)—are iconic. Local & Sustainable: The kitchen focuses on Ocean Wise sustainable seafood and fresh, regional produce. The View & Vibe: Located on the Burrard Inlet near Canada Place, the restaurant offers stunning harbor views and a beautiful al fresco waterfront patio. Kaiseki: Multi-course tasting menus designed to showcase the ultimate progression of seasonal ingredients. Special Features: They offer a full-service sushi bar, a dedicated cocktail lounge, and private dining options. This is a high end Japanese restaurant. Many celebrities have been spotted to eat here. I wouldn’t recommend eating here if you’re on a budget. It’s definitely about the experience. Family came for a busy Mother’s Day and service is exceptional. Definitely try their variety of sake and cocktails here.

Visiting from Toronto for a business trip and had the chance to dine at Miku — such a memorable experience. The quality of the food was outstanding. Everything was incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere with great views, making it perfect for both business dinners and a nice night out. The service was professional and attentive without feeling rushed. One tip: definitely make a reservation ahead of time, as it seems to be very popular. So glad I got to experience this spot while in Vancouver!

Im not a huge sushi fan but was in the area and was recommend to us as my son is a sushi lover. The food was amazing. Im quite picky with sushi so I didnt try it all but from what I had it was delicious and tasted so fresh. The quality was much better than I've ever had. I tried one of the combos so it was a surprise what I was getting. Next time ill order individual items. If you are in the downtown vancouver area check it out for sure.

Overall, this is an okay place. Good service (waitress explained all the dishes) and nice atmosphere. They make their own soy sauce and have real wasabi. However, some dishes were below par. Saba Oshi (BEST): The best oshi out of all the oshi options. Very flavorful, smooth and buttery. The other oshi (salmon, ebi, yellowfin tuna) tasted mid but good quality. Hokkaido Scallops (BEST): Scallops were quite juicy and you could taste some of the grill Wagyu croquette from Miku Shokai (LEAST RECOMENDED) like McDonald’s burger but mashed beans texture… I could take a patty from McDonald’s, mash it with beans, then fry it for the same dish Lobster Ceviche: A bit too sweet, reminded intensely of the oceanwise tuna with cracker snack packs Kyoto Saiko Miso Sablefish: The dish was too rich… the creamy sauce with the creamy pasta with the creamy sablefish was too heavy and unbalanced

Miku and its sister restaurants are always great places to go for sushi/sashimi. I usually go to Miku Toronto so I knew I had to try Miku Vancouver, especially as it's Michelin recommended! We had the Miku Shokai lunch special for $58 which includes miso soup, three appetizers (sablefish, a salad, and 3 pieces of sashimi), 3 pieces of sushi rolls, 4 pieces of traditional nigiri, and 3 pieces of Aburi Oshi (pressed sushi). We also ordered Hokkaido uni nigiri. The sashimi and traditional nigiri were much sweeter and fresher than I've had in Toronto, which is expected given Vancouver's proximity to the ocean and to Japan. The Hokkaido uni was absolutely incredible and better than regular uni at Japanese fish markets. I would absolutely recommend Miku Vancouver! Amazing food, great service, great atmosphere and views.
