Food was very decent, nothing special and nothing bad, but their seating area outside is what brought us to this restaurant in the first place. Prawn cocktail was really good. Sablefish - eh, i did not like the way it was cooked, would be much better to simply grill it. Seaside platter was a good choice to try most seafood. Do not be scared of dungeon crab, out server warned us it would be very difficult to get the meat out of it, it was not that difficult and there was plenty of meat to enjoy. The view outside was great and they had heaters, so it made the evening extremely pleasant.

We visited Cardero’s tonight for my husband’s birthday and had a wonderful experience. Our server (young man with an unusual name that we think started with I or E and had an accent 🤦🏻‍♀️) was the perfect balance of friendly and professional. The food was so delicious from the wok squid to the Caesar salad and the fabulous Dragon Boat platter (we shared all 3 items.) The atmosphere is rustic west coast, lively, and cozy. The noise level is better than a lot of large spaces because of the plexiglass partitions between the booths. It makes it easy to hear your friends. Overall a really enjoyable dining experience!

I wish I had grabbed our server’s name because she was absolutely amazing, so professional, attentive, and kind. She truly made our experience even more special ❤️ I brought my husband here for his birthday brunch, and everything was perfect. We were seated on the patio, which was beautiful and had such a great atmosphere, such a lovely way to start his birthday. The food was amazing overall. The halibut fish and chips came out a bit too wet at first. They did re-fry it, which was a little questionable lol But they ended up remaking it with fresh batter and a new piece of halibut. After that, my husband was really happy with the quality. Also, thank you so much for the birthday plate, such a thoughtful touch! The service and setting together made this a memorable experience. We’ll definitely be back!

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. It is a year round covered patio, equipped with heaters, blankets, umbrellas and very comfortable chairs. We had the ceadar plank salmon entree and the seared tuna entree, tuna tataki for appetizer and Affogato and cheesecake for dessert. All delicious, the waiter was very knowledgeable on things to do in the area and the menu. He recommended some local beers to try, even provided a couple beer samples so we could decide which to choose. Very friendly staff, beautiful views and overall unique wonderful experience.

We were on a recent Celebrity cruise from Hawaii to Vancouver and we met a lovely Canadian couple at one of the specialty restaurants. As it was going to be our anniversary and we're looking for respect to have dinner they recommended that we go to Cardero's...this was wonderful advice. We started off with the Manhattan clam chowder and the tomato soup with goat cheese and work amazing. My wife got a spicy margarita and I got the Vancouver Island hazy IPA and they were just wonderful drinks. My wife got the fish and chips and I had the sable fish entree and we thoroughly enjoyed them. As it was our anniversary, they brought out a beautiful commemorative dessert with Happy anniversary written in with a raspberry chocolate dessert that was just amazing!!☺️ With all of the wonderful food and drinks I would have to say the best part was the service. We were greeted by a super friendly hostess at the door and our waitress was just amazing. I'm sorry I don't remember her name but she was just super attentive and she made the experience all the more better. If you find yourself in Vancouver, I cannot recommend more highly that you go to Cardero's. Hands down a great place and if we are ever back in Vancouver, we will surely be having a meal here again
