Mestizo Fusion Cuisine: A Husband-and-Wife Kitchen in Northwood Village
Mestizo Fusion Cuisine, tucked into Northwood Village, is a husband-and-wife operation: Pedro, a former computer technician, runs the front of house, while his wife Misleidy works the kitchen, building a menu that treats "fusion" as a philosophy rather than a marketing word.
Peruvian Roots, No Boundaries
Misleidy's cooking draws on Peruvian tradition — dishes like aji de gallina (shredded chicken in a creamy aji amarillo sauce), seco de carne (a slow-cooked cilantro beef stew), arroz con pollo, and aguadito soup — while also reaching into other culinary traditions, as with the Snapper Florentine, a red snapper dish finished with shrimp and a spinach béchamel. Since opening in 2018, the restaurant has built enough of a reputation to land on Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat in Florida, one of only eight Palm Beach County restaurants to make that list.
Good to Know
